Weekly Numbers 1/20/2010

January is half over and the numbers keep “rolling” in.  Only one, “noteworthy” album dropped last week.  Omarion’s Ollusion came out and it was clear that NOBODY cared.  Well, 19,000 people cared.  I have been having an internal struggle because a part of me really wants to hear the album but I feel like I already know it’s gonna be horrible.  Ack Right or whatever his single is, is kind of dope I guess.  Anyway, it’s amazing that Black Eyed Peas are STILL moving more units that most people.  Alicia Keys is still creeping towards platinum status, Mary J. Blige is still doing pretty well and Young Money is sticking around.  Here is the top.

I’m not sure why people aren’t rushing out to by Clipse album but are STILL supporting Blueprint 3. Wait, dumb statement. Teenage girls aren’t bumping the Clipse like that. Oh well. Stay tuned until next week.  Hopefully Omarion can move a few more units before he gets dropped again.

Weekly Numbers 1/13/2010

Another week is upon us and the numbers are in.  As always, shout out to HipHopDx for keeping a player current in this wonderful world of sales figures.  Not much has changed since last week, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige stay on top.  Black Eyed Peas are still moving more units per week than most artists period.  And Young Money and Rihanna sold just over 25K.  Here are the top steppers

Weekly Numbers 1/6/2009

The weekly numbers are in thanks to HipHopDx.  There isn’t really any exciting news or surprises.  Black Eyed Peas and Eminem still continue to move units while Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige are still holding on up top.  Young Money is doing alrigh too but I wonder if they are disappointed especially with the hype surround Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake? Check out the top.

Weekly Numbers 12/31/2009

For my last post of 2009, I wanted to share the weekly numbers with everyone.  Christmas seemed to be very helpful to a lot of artist’s sales including Eminem, Alicia Keys and Black Eyed Peas.  New releases like Mary J Blige and Young Money’s We Are Young Money made strong debuts as well.  Here is the top.

Despite dropping one of the best albums of the year, the Clipse are still not moving units like they should.  Gucci Mane’s sales are a little disappointing,” if you look at how many times his shit is played on the radio.  50 Cent looks like he probably won’t break gold either.  I wonder how people are feeling about 2009 and what the future will hold????  Stayed tuned for next weeks sales.  Happy Holidays to all.  See you  next year.

Weekly Numbers 12/23/2009

I have no theme music today other than Paradise City by Guns N Roses but I wanted to share the weekly numbers with everyone.  There weren’t any big name rap releases in the past week but R & B heavyweights Alicia Keys and Robin Thicke Squared off.  Ms.  Keys debuted at number 2 and sold over 400K units in the first week while Robin Thicke, despite having the most beautiful wife in the world moved 123K.  Michael Jackson moved over 100k this week, Black Eyed Peas did over 80K and Jay-Z moved 38K.  Here are is the top.

Weekly Numbers 12/16/2009

I almost forgot to comment on the weekly numbers today.  Today is the end one of the biggest weeks of the year for hip hop because the Clipse dropped their 3rd album, Til The Casket Drops.  People were estimating that the Clipse were only going to move a measly 30K in their first week.  Well, those numbers were correct.  Clipse dropped one of the best albums of the year but only managed to sell just over 30K.  I don’t know WTF is wrong with people because they also dropped 3 of the best songs of the year before the album even dropped.  Another “shocker” to some might be Gucci Mane’s numbers.  He moved 90K in his first week, which if you ask me is terrible considering he RUNS the radio.  If labels haven’t been scrambling, they should be now.  Hits don’t mean record sales unless your Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem or Lil Wayne.  It’s a sad day for real.  Regardless, I still encourage everyone to go out and BUY Clipse album because it is worth the money.  Gucci’s on the other hand, maybe just google The State Vs. Radric Davis mediafire.  That should do.  Chris Brown pulled in Rihanna numbers with just over 100K, Snoop moved just under 60K and Timbaland FAILED with 40K.  Check the top.

I got more numbers for those who are still in denial.  50 Cent made his way to a quarter millie, Black Eyed Peas are still murdering most people’s first week numbers, Birdman did better than I would have predicted and Blakroc isn’t breaking much ground even though Hoochie Coo is AMAZING.  Here is the top.

Weekly Numbers 11/4/2009

The weekly numbers are in once again.  Shout out to HipHopDx.  Jay-Z is still moving more units than most artists put together, Michael Jackson debuts number one with 375K and Kansas City’s own Tech N9ne moves 30K.  I’m VERY pleased to see Tech’s numbers.  It proves that underground, indie artists can move units by themselves.  Raekwon is also on the charts and moved 3K this week and sits at 130K total.  Any surprises or disappointments?

Album Sales 10/28/2009

It is a sad, sad day people and by sad I mean VERY sad.  The weekly album sales are in and Royce Da 5’9″, who is one of the biggest names on the blogs/websites/internet, etc moved about as many units Mack 10.  Wait a minute, does that even make sense?  I’m kinda confused because Lil Boosie dropped an album or mixtape and sold damn near DOUBLE the amount that Royce sold.  Kid Cudi is STILL moving more units than Royce.  I can’t say that I’m surprised but I am more so just disappointed and lost.  Drake is still going strong, Jay sold another 45K and the Black Eyed Peas are still doing the same.  Peep.

I wish HipHopDx would start lying about these numbesr to make me feel better.  Looks like rappers better be pop or perish.
