Here is the second video I saw this weekend. This time it is Big Boi’s Be Still featuring Janelle Monae. Another great song from one of last year’s best albums. Shout out to Outkast. I have been listening to Stankonia and Aquemini all this past week/weekend. Hopefully we can get that Andre 3000 solo album and another Outkast album soon. Happy “Monday” to everyone. I am sure most people are dragging ass today from the extended holiday weekend. I know today was harder than most days to get up and get to work. Hopefully noboby blew their hand off this weekend trying to throw bottlerockets or M-80′s. Today is one of the biggest days in hip hop in YEARS. As you might have seen, I have been hyping up Big Boi’s first solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty for a while now. This album was supposed to drop several times but the wait was definitely worth it. I purchased my copy from Target this morning for $9.99. It was going for $13.99 at Best Buy. The Deluxe version is also available, which includes a DVD with the 5 videos Big Boi has released and two bonus tracks. I recommend buying the deluxe version if your not on a budget like me. However, count my unit towards the 60K he will see in the first week. Only if Big Boi could do Eminem numbers, there might be hope for quality hip hop regaining its stronghold. Props to Eminem though. Anyway, like I have been saying all along, Big Boi’s album is CRAZY and will definitely be album of the year. I know Kanye is supposed to drop in September and Detox MIGHT come up but they won’t be fucking with SLLF. I think a lot of people were doubting Big Boi’s ability to drop a classic without Andre in the mix but Big Boi does just that. I think most people will stray away from calling it a classic but I guarantee everyone will STILL be bumping this shit ten years from now. There isn’t one song that I skip. Even the Jamie Foxx song, produced by Lil Jon is sick. Big Boi just furthers Outkast’s legacy in hip hop and does so by doing what they always do, reinvent themselves. For those who think Andre is the key to their success, listen to this album and to Speakerboxxx. Big Boi not only holds his own but provides exactly the same amount of innovateness and skills that Andre does. I doubt anyone will rate this album perfect but I’m not sure what else Big Boi could have done to make the album better. Maybe add Cee Lo and Andre to the mix but label politics seem to forbid Andre’s guest verses. Sir Lucious Left Foot just cements my point that Outkast is the greatest hip hop entity of all time. As you all might know, one half of hip hop’s greatest entity, Outkast is dropping his first solo album next week. Big Boi is set to release his MUCH anticipating album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty on Tuesday. After several setbacks, leaks and video premiers, the album leaked on the internet the other day. I like to call it Christmas in June/July is more like it. I will not divulge any information about the album but I did want to post Big Boi’s new video for Follow Us. Check it below and everyone should be very scared for Tuesday. Fresh off Big Boi’s General Patton video, a mixtape came out called Daddy Fat Sacks that features some of Big Boi’s leaked material, singles and some other random joints. I’m not sure if Big Boi has any affiliation with this mixtape but it was nice to hear some of Big Boi’s new material all together. Sir Luscious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty comes out next month so fans like myself are getting very eager to hear the whole album. Until then, wet your whistle with several leaks and some random Big Boi verses. For Yo Sorrows is still one of my favorite joints to come out in a while. I hope you all don’t mind but I’m gonna flood the site a little bit today with some dope music. First off is Big Boi’s new video for the single, Shutterbug. At first, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this song but after listening more, the beat is BANANAS and the video hits it out of the park. I can see why Andre told Big Boi to make this a single. I love to see creative shit and Outkast NEVER disappoints. It should be a lesson to rappers. It doesn’t matter how long you have been doing this, your music should always be fresh, new and GOOD and their is NO reason that the videos should be terrible. BE CREATIVE. Shout out to Scott Storch on the beat. Sir Luscious Left Food shall be out SOON!!!!!!
