Damn MORE Big K.R.I.T.! It’s a big weekend for dude. Three awesome songs and videos! This time K.R.I.T. joins T.I. for I’m Flexin’. This might be one of my favorite records this year too.
A couple new releases dropped this week, the biggest being T.I. who managed to capture the number four spot, selling 160K in his first week. Redman also dropped a new album and snagged the number 100 spot moving 11K. Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Rihanna are still up towards the top. Check it out

Soulja Boy sold another 8,000 copies in his second week. Pretty Boy Swag!!!!!!!!! Nothing else too crazy. Until next week……
Although, I was a little disappointed with T.I.’s album, tracks like I’m Back, Yea You Know and Pledge Allegiance To The Swag are SERIOUS records. I wish the whole album sounded like that shit. Fortunately, Tip dropped a video for Pledge Allegiance To The Swag recently. T.I. is still one of the greatest at making straight anthems. Enjoy.
T.I. has been in the headlines lately for a little more than music. Of course everyone knows that T.I. got out of jail after spending a year or so locked up for buying weapons and recently he got arrested for drugs in the car. Well, since being back, T.I. has dropped some heat minus the Keri Hilson song. I’m back was crazy, Pledge Allegiance To The Swag is sick and his new video, Ya Hear Me is dope as well. Hopefully his new album will drop soon because the anthems are crazy so far. Check out his new video for Ya Hear Me and I’m Back just in case you forgot how sick this song is.
This week will be one of the craziest weeks for new music that I have seen in a while. Some of the games heavy hitters all dropped new mixtapes and I will be listening to all of the. T.I., Rick Ross, Raekwon, Royce Da 5’9″ and the Cool Kids all dropped new projects. First up to bat is T.I.’s new Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama called Fuck A Mixtape. It’s a funny project because the whole time he is talking about how he shouldn’t be doing a mixtape but he is doing it anyway. WEIRD if you ask me. The statement doesn’t really hold any weight if you make a MIXTAPE called FUCK A MIXTAPE. However, good thing it’s T.I. because for a mixtape, it’s solid as hell. Most every track is a banger. T.I. is definitely sounding fresh even after coming off a year hiatus from jail. He shows why he is one of the dopest cats out and this MIXTAPE should definitely get people excited for the album. His single, I’m Back is crazy and the joint, Yea You Know is another certified anthem. I can’t wait to see what T.I. brings to the table with the new album. I want to officially welcome T.I. back and tell the rest of these rap guys to step their game up. I still HATE mixtapes a lot because of the DJ’s thinking that it is necessary to scream over every track and rewind the beginning of every song 12 times but this is definitely an ill project. Check out Yea You Know(Takers). Shit is CRAZY. Up next, RICKY ROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Happy Hump Day. I’m still bumping that new, new the whole week. This time, it is the debut album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray from Atlanta rapper, producer, musician, B.o.B. I first heard B.oB. a few years ago when his single, Haterz Everywhere bubbled for a while. After being featured in some LRG campaigns and dropping various songs and mixtapes, his buzz was about as high as it could be for a debut album. Matched with the success of his single, Nothin’ On You, The Adventures of Bobby Ray became one of the biggest albums to drop in 2010. Now that I got that out of the way, time for some good old fashion hatin’. I can’t say I was expecting much after hearing Nothin’ On You, which just happens to be one of my least favorite songs EVER. I understand the purpose of the record and I guess it’s hard to really hate when all the females I know LOVE that shit. After talking with one of my guys, he encouraged me to check out the album and that it was pretty solid. So, I put in the album and that hate immediately started. I guess maybe I was expecting(craving) some hip hop shit from an artist that people keep comparing to Andre 3000(please stop making that comparison, one has nothing but classics, the other has two radio hits), but the album was pretty much straight pop music. There is just too much “lightness” on the album for my liking. Bet I Bust with T.I. is hands down the hardest and best song(in my opinion). The rest of the songs just felt like they would be featured on a Nickelodeon show. Even Lupe’s appearance on Past My Shades didn’t cause me to rewind the track. Maybe I was expecting something different from B.o.B. that simply isn’t him, as an artist. The album just feels really catered to the pop audience and has no edge to it whatsoever. Especially in a time when R&B singers have more edge than rappers, I was hoping that B.o.B. would bring something different. I think dude is definitely talented and maybe this is the lane he wants to be in but The Adventures of Bobby Ray will be getting NO burn from here on out in my tapedeck. PS, I am tired of rappers talking about being from another planet and living on spaceships and all that bullshit. If you recall, Outkast dropped ATLiens back in 1996 so, ya’ll are 14 years late and lack a classic debut album. Come back to earth and make some real shit. I’ll stop hating now, here is Bet I featuring T.I. I can’t way for King Uncaged.
Oh yea, Eminem is featured on the album too. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
Classic Shit Fridays is moving right along, this time with one of the illest dudes from Atlanta, T.I. I took a back to his 2nd album, Trap Muzik, which most people probably consider a certified classic. T.I. really gets doper every time I hear him. Dude is SUPER underrated in terms of lyrical abilities. Trap Muzik is really dope because it’s before the whole nation and the pop world really got a hold of T.I.’s music. He is still pretty underground as far as not catering to mainstream radio. Trap Muzik has two joints produced by Kanye before he was Kanye, which is refreshing to hear as well. He has the anthems that he is known for as well. It’s just a reall well done album. Today, I’m really feeling Look What I Got. It’s one of the joints where, even if your rolling a 99 Civic or and 88 Corolla, you feel like your shit is on 24′s and your pockets are fatter than (insert a hefty person’s name here). I want to make sure that all of you underground heads listen to Trap Muzik because T.I. can rap better than most of your favorite underground emcees. If your worried about content, listen to Doin’ My Job produced by Kanye West. I want to wish everyone a Happy Fly/Flannel Friday. Me and Phys Edison are hitting the studio this evening to work on Paid Time Off. Me and SLOT-A are in the studio Saturday working on Have You Seen My Stapler?? Also, I am dropping two remixes next Wednesday, so stay tuned.
