After the fire incident at Diddy’s Dirty Money party, I almost went out and bought the album.  I don’t know if I should listen to Michael Jackson’s new album though, seeing how 50 Cent is on it.  Just in case you haven’t seen the chick’s hair catch on fire at Diddy’s party, you have to watch it below.  Shout out to Kevin Hart.  ”Did the camera catch that????????”  Happy Holidays.

You Need This Music

I was reading a little article with Nottz on HipHopDx this morning and it got me pretty excited for his album, You Need This Music, which is supposed to drop sometime this year.  Nottz is one of my favorite producers out.  He is one of the only cats who seems to have the ability to work with cats like Kanye, R. Kelly, Snoop, Rah Digga and Little Brother.  His beats are always fresh and different.  I wasn’t aware that he was a rapper and was putting out an album until I saw his video for Shine So Brite.  The joint is really dope.  He followed it up with a video and a song called Cars which is equally as fresh.  I’m exactly sure when they album is going to drop but I WILL be bumping it for sure.  Another exciting and interesting piece of information is that Nottz was supposed to do an album with the late, great J Dilla.  He produced a track called Diamonds for Dilla from his album, Pay Jay, which never dropped but hit the net last year.  Diamonds is one of my favorite Dilla joints ever and to hear Nottz did the track was really cool.  For everyone NOT familiar with Nottz, check his credentials.  Dude is amazing.  Here are the videos for Shine So Brite and Cars, as well as a few other Nottz produced joints that I love.  Happy Monday

Weekly Numbers 12/9/2009

It’s that time of the week again and the numbers are looking a little better for some people. R. Kelly debuted selling over 100K his first week, Rihanna and 50 Cent are right around a quarter millie, Birdman breaks 50K and Juvenile(I didn’t even know he had a new album) sits right under 25K. No real surprises here. I actually a little surprised to see Birdman moving a few units but he does have Money To Blow and 4 My Town(Play Ball) on his album. Here is the top.

I hope Blakroc can move around 10K a week and hit that 50K mark. That would be beautiful. Stay tuned for next week’s numbers because two of the most hyped released dropped yesterday, The Clipse and Gucci Mane. Any guesses how many Gucci will sell?? I’m gonna guess just under 500K. The Clipse will probably do around 60K.

The Break Up

The Break Up

I apologize for the “random/horrible” theme song of the day but I just had to do it.  This weekend I feel like I heard this song 75 times and I am kind of obsessed with ONE part.  Aside from the fact that this beat sounds like A Millie and it features one of the most HORRIBLE rappers ever, Gucci Mane, the song is getting some HEAVY rotation on the air waves.  It’s quite amazing to me that the new hottest rappers in the game are Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman.  I’m not sure if it is their lack of talent or the fact that they are so horrible that it’s funny but these dudes are RUNNING shit right now.  Every time I turn on the radio, these cats are on.  And now they are featured on songs with Mariah Carey, R. Kelly and Jadakiss.  Sigh.  Anyways, Break Up by Mario featuring Gucci Mane and Sean Garret is my theme song/video for today.  The video just dropped a couple days ago.  I think I just want everyone else to suffer for a day like I did this weekend.  So enjoy and feel my pain.  This song is ALMOST as good as the Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston movie.

Jeremih “Birthday Sex”

Jeremih Birthday Sex

Jeremih Birthday Sex

Perhaps the HOTTEST song on the planet right now(maybe just in my mind), Birthday Sex from former Columbia College student Jeremih, is my favorite shit out.  I find myself singing the lyrics at least 4 times a day.  My roommate especially likes when I sing it in the middle of Law and Order: SVU.  Anyways, here is the teaser for the official video.  This shis is gonna be EPIC.  Watch the video and check out the full song below too.   The R. Kelly remix is kinda ill too.  Jeremih Birthday Sex
