Grumpy Old Men “Sunday Skool”

It’s been a year in the making but finally, Sunday Skool is here.  In case this is your first time visiting, Sunday Skool is the debut album from myself and Pete Sayke, collectively known as Grumpy Old Men.  Sunday Skool is 13 tracks(2 bonus) featuring artists like Scheme, Neak, Dre Dai, Sin Castle and LONEgevity.  We also have some incredible production on the album from Maja 7th, Wes P, Ill Brown, LONEgevity, Ta-Ku and Rob Bates.  I know most sites will post this as a mixtape but trust, this is an album.  Everything about the album has been planned out from concept, to production to album structure.  We are releasing it free but expect an album, not a mixtape.  Sunday Skool also has some awesome artwork courtesy of my guy, Heath O’Campo, who has been responsible for most of my projects.  Ill Brown, who produced 2 records, also did all the mixing.  Shout out to everyone who has been a part of the project and please listen, download and share.  Sunday Skool is exclusively available on LiveMixtapes and is sponsored by LiveMixtapes, YNotMyDream.net and BringingDownTheBand.com.  Right now there is an important piece of the album missing from the file but we are working to get that fixed and regardless, you will get that as well.

Grumpy Old Men “A3C Update”

I just wanted to give everyone a little update about A3C.  Grumpy Old Men performed Saturday night and rocked the house.  Passed out a bunch of fliers, did an interview and some drops for blogs.  Even shook hands with Ras Kass.  All in all, it was a great weekend.  Big KRIT was amazing and the highlight for me.  Elzhi also killed, as did M.O.P., Dead Prez and Big Daddy Kane.  Moving forward, we should be dropping another song from Sunday Skool this week.  Also, in the upcoming weeks dropping some video footage from A3C and some more Sunday Skool related stuff.  In the meantime, Happy Monday! Enjoy some Big KRIT!

Grumpy Old Men featuring Neak “One For The Road” produced by Wes P

A3C is this weekend.  Sunday Skool is around the corner and today, Grumpy Old Men drops One For The Road featuring Neak.  This joint is produced by Wes P, who I think you guys will become very familiar with not only on Sunday Skool but with all the heat he will be dropping in the near future.  If I had to pick on surprised on Sunday Skool, it would be Wes P.  Dude gave us a bunch of songs and 5 of them made the album.  BIG shout out to Wes P.  Our guy, Neak, who is also rockin at A3C this weekend dropped a verse on this joint.  One For The Road premiered on DJBooth.net last night so, please listen, comment and rate.  You can download it below as well.

Introducing Grumpy Old Men

Nothing crazy but I just wanted to share a quick introduction to Grumpy Old Men.  Of course by now you have heard and probably seen a picture or two but Grumpy Old Men is a group that myself and Pete Sayke formed last year while recording some random material.  We ended up with like 6 or 7 songs and decided to do an album, then the album and chemistry was just crazy so, we formed a group.  We threw around a bunch of ideas but Grumpy Old Men was the perfect fit for a couple of “old” rap guys like us.  Sunday Skool came together with production and features from some of Chicago’s best producers and emcees not to mention Australia, Indianapolis and Texas.  We have been performing together for almost a year in Chicago but Sunday Skool is our first release as a group.  A lot of things have happened in the past year and we are looking forward to releasing the album and introducing the world to Mike Schpitz and Pete Sayke as Grumpy Old Men.  Oh yea, we are performing at A3C Festival in Atlanta next Saturday!
