Quest For Fire

I posted Karindal’s new video last week and figured this Friday, I would go back an listen to his album, Quest For Fire: Firestarter Volume 1. I remember first seeing Kardinal back when the Bakardi Slang video dropped and thinking “this dude is sick.” Naturally my affinity for reggae and dancehall made Kardi even more appealing but after hearing Ol’ Time Killin’ and Maxine, I was sold. Kardinal to this day is one of my favorite artists. He sounds good pretty much doing any type of track, although I prefer the reggae/dancehall influence.  So for the last Friday in January, on this chilly, Chicago winter day, enjoy some Fire from Toronto’s own, Kardinal Offishall.

Kardinal Offishall “The Anthem”

Ever since his last album, Not 4 Sale, I’ve been craving some new Kardinal.  He has been one of my favorite emcees for a while now, probably since I first heard Bakardi Slang.  After linking with Akon and Konvict, his name seemed to get a little bigger among the mainstream but he is still one of the most slept-on cats out.  He puts out dope albums and mixtapes every time around and with his new album, Mr. International  on the way, he is sure to gain some more respect.  His new video, The Anthem pays tribute to his home, Toronto with a lot of celebrity guest appearances.  BIG shout out to Kardinal and all of the dope cats north of the border.  Canada has heat, Saukrates, Choclair, Brass Munk, Marco Polo, Da Grassroots and of course my dudes Tona and Lyve.  Check out the official video for The Anthem below.  T Dot

And for a bonus, two of my favorite Kardi videos, Ol Time Killin and Nina.
