Mike Schpitz presents Mike Is Like
It has been about six months since my last project, Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover and almost a year since my debut album, Sunday Drive. Since the, I have been hard at work on my latest project, Mike Murder. After receiving warm responses from several “low budget” Mike Murder videos back in 2008, I decided to put together an actuall recorded project titled Mike Murder which features another side of me and my music that may not be as evident when listened to my previous work. After premiering my new joint, Mike Is Like yesterday on DJBooth.net and receiving some wonderful words, I am making Mike Is Like available for download as the first official leak from Mike Murder. The music was recorded, mixed and mastered by Classick for Classick Studios. Dakota Blue Harper took all the pictures and Heath O’Campo did the artwork, which will drop later this month. Mike Murder is scheduled to release on May 26th, the one year anniversary of Sunday Drive and MikeSchpitz.com. It is sponsored by DJBooth.net, Ballerstatus.com, YNotMyDream.net, RefinedHype.com and PMG Media. Please listen, download and spread the word about Mike Is Like and Mike Murder. I have performed several of these cuts live and people really seem to enjoy them.

Mike Is Like Acapella Live at The Mint in Los Angeles
If you recall, on Grammy Night in Los Angeles, I had my first show at The Mint. I headlined the event and had a great turnout and a great response. I just got some video footage back from that show of me performing an acapella version of an exclusive track, Mike Is Like which is featured on my upcoming project, Mike Murder. Check it out.
Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Five
Just in case everyone thought I was slipping, it’s day five of the Gorilla Zoe Challenge and I’m still going strong. It isn’t the ideal way to start of a Monday morning but I am committed to my cause. Today’s selections are mixtapes 9 and 10, G4 Zoe The Male Gigolo and Zoe Montana Part 2. I can’t say I have heard anything word putting on repeat. It’s just more of the same. No standouts and not extremely hilarious songs just more of the same. If you are STILL sleeping on Zoe at this point, please wake up and at least listen to 4 or 5 of the mixtapes. It’s for a good cause. Anyway, happy Monday to all. I will be rocking ton Thursday, February 18th at Exedus in Chicago, so I encourage everyone to come out. It will be a good lineup featuring myself, Papi Jamon and HINX JONES. Come support some dope hip hop. I can assure that my next project will be all the way recorded on Friday. We just have to tighten up a few things, get a guest verse and get the artwork lined up. NEW PROJECT COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!!! Stay Tuned. Download the 9th and 10th installments of 28 in 28 below.
Sunday Drive in 2009
I got a little more good news about my album, Sunday Drive with Phys Edison. The website, HoldTheThrone.com rounded up some people to compile their lists of best albums of 2009. Travis Glave from Wake Your Daughter Up and Bloggerhouse featured Sunday Drive as the 16th best album of 2009. That is an incredible honor to be featured on ANYONE’s list of best albums of 2009. Shout out to Travis and everyone who has supported Sunday Drive and any of the other music I have released. I couldn’t have pictured Sunday Drive or Love Potion being received any better. Sunday Drive received over 83K downloads to date and Love Potion has over 6K. Both projects for surpassed my expectations. I promise I will be released a lot of incredible material in 2010. I got 2 videos from Love Potion coming out as well as my first project titled Mike Murder sponsored by some great websites. Check out the Hold The Throne’s list of Best Albums of 2009 right here. Here is the Sucka MCs music video as well in cased you missed out. Shout out to Tori Boyd.
Every Day is Work
I wanted to give everyone a little Friday afternoon, Mike Schpitz update. As you all know(hopefully), I dropped my debut album, Sunday Drive with Phys Edison on May 26th. Since then, I have released the music video for New World. All of the feedback has been incredible and I really appreciate everyone for downloading, listening, posting and sharing the music. It means a lot to me and Phys Edison. As far as Sunday Drive goes, were are doing a video for Sucks MCs which should be out sometime in July. Phys Ed and I have been pondering the idea of releasing Sunday Drive: The Instrumentals and Sunday Drive: The Samples. We will have to see if we can make that happen for all the producers and beatnicks. Also expect remixes to Sucka MCs and The Get Up featuring The League of OG’s. This week was the first time Phys Ed and I got back together and worked on music since we finished Sunday Drive and let me tell you. We already got 4 songs written/partially written and Phys Ed has been pumping out beats like Kobe was dropping buckets on the Magic. We don’t have a title for the project right now. We are just focused on how we want the production to sound and making dope records with a similiar feel. If you enjoyed Sunday Drive, the next album will be crazy. Also, I am almost finished recording and mixing the last couple joints for the Love Potion Number 9th re-released called The Hangover. As of now, the mixtape will have 16 joints, 8 from the original Love Potion and 8 others. All songs are produced by 9th Wonder. There might be a couple more joints if I can get my hands on some of Wale/9th Wonder’s instrumentals but as of now, 16 is the final number of songs. My second album, Have You Seen My Stapler? is very close to being done. I gotta record a few more records with SLOT-A and a couple more records with The Gift but that is coming soon too. I have also started recording music with Rob Bates and plan on working with Lyve, QB Da Problem, Nascent, Quest, King Sampson,Ta-Ku and of course The League of OGs too. Expect LOTS of music this year. I might even drop a few more Mike Murder joints. Anyways, today is Friday. Enjoy your afternoon with one of my favorite Bob Marley songs, Work. It is the perfect way to end the week.
