I got a little more good news about my album, Sunday Drive with Phys Edison. The website, HoldTheThrone.com rounded up some people to compile their lists of best albums of 2009. Travis Glave from Wake Your Daughter Up and Bloggerhouse featured Sunday Drive as the 16th best album of 2009. That is an incredible honor to be featured on ANYONE’s list of best albums of 2009. Shout out to Travis and everyone who has supported Sunday Drive and any of the other music I have released. I couldn’t have pictured Sunday Drive or Love Potion being received any better. Sunday Drive received over 83K downloads to date and Love Potion has over 6K. Both projects for surpassed my expectations. I promise I will be released a lot of incredible material in 2010. I got 2 videos from Love Potion coming out as well as my first project titled Mike Murder sponsored by some great websites. Check out the Hold The Throne’s list of Best Albums of 2009 right here. Here is the Sucka MCs music video as well in cased you missed out. Shout out to Tori Boyd.
2009 had some incredible moments for me both personally and musically. One of the biggest opportunities that I had was getting my debut album with Phys Edison, Sunday Drive featured on Frostwire/Frostclick. Thanks to my guy Mike at FlawlessHustle.com, the people at Frostclick/Frostwire featured Sunday Drive for a week or so which translated into over 81,000 downloads. Frostclick/Frostwire put together a year ending compilation album to celebrate the first 1,000,000 downloads that they received and featured my song, Sit on the Moon. They also included a digital booktlet and some information about all the artist featured. As if this wasn’t enough, Sunday Drive has the most downloads of any artist featured on the compilation. This is an incredible look and honor for both me and Phys Ed. It really shows the appeal and support that people had for the album. I wanted to thank everyone who checked out Sunday Drive and who have supported the music. I have a lot of incredible things planned for 2010. Make sure you download the whole compilation album from Frostwire/Frostclick and help them celebrate their first 1,000,000 downloads.
Also, check out the digital booklet for the compilation right here and look at those numbers.
If you haven’t already seen my video for Sit on the Moon, here it is.

I had the pleasure recently for my song Downtime with Phys Edison to be featured in a short film directed by Gareth Dowdell. He submitted his short film to the Red Bull film contest Reel Life out in Auckland, New Zealand. I watched the film last evening and it was really cool to see. The short films will be judged and a winner will be chosen and awarded $10,000 dollars towards their film career. Please everyone take some time to watch Downtime. Share your feedback, thoughts and comments here or on facebook, myspace or twitter. Here is the link to Downtime.
This was supposed to be my featured project for the day but now it is my featured project for the night and all day tomorrow. My man, my mellow, Anthony who runs YNotMyDream.blogspot, has been working very hard for the last few months putting together a mixtape of some of his favorite artists. Aptly, titled(I like that word aptly) Beneath The Surface(see Gza’s album), the mixtape features a lot of cats you may see around the net on various blogs and sites but who aren’t quite household names. Everyone on the trap submitted exclusive tracks including myself to show their love and support to Anthony for all his hard work in supporting our journeys into this wonderful world of rap madness. Sorry that was lame. I want everyone to download Beneath The Surface and check out YNotMyDream.blogspot.com daily for all the latest. He is one of the cats who genuinely supports and respects the artists he posts. It’s not based soley on hits and page visits. Enjoy Beneath The Surface. Congrats to Anthony for the first of MANY dope tapes. Artwork is ill too.

Today is a very, very, very special day for me. I have linked with FlawlessHustle.com, RefinedHype.com and Chicago sneaker boutique, AKIN to release my new/old mixtape, Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover. Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover’ is an A side B side tape inspired by, with all beats borrowed from 9th Wonder. The A side is 8 songs that were released back in 2007 as a part of the original “Love Potion Number 9th”. After receiving lots of positive feedback, the B Side, “The Hangover” was recorded. Spanning from early 2008 to the summer of 2009, “The Hangover” is the result of releasing and gaining support from the original. After promoting the debut album “Sunday Drive”, “Love Potion” started receiving even more positive feedback and interest, so “The Hangover” portion, which was previously unreleased, was added to complete the tape. In honor of 9th Wonder’s contribution to the project as well as serving as one of the primary influences, David Hildreth created the cover and Heath O’Campo designed the layout. “Love Potion Number 9th” features The Only Ones Crew, which consisted of Adullessence, Mike Schpitz aka LoveJones, Large Marge and Stik Figa. If anyone can get this project to 9th Wonder, there is a handsome reward in it for you. Shout out to the whole Topeka, Kansas aka Paradise City aka Top City for your continued support. Here is the track list and download link. Please download, listen and share with tape. Just spread the word. I look forward to hearing everyone’s feedback and comments.

As promised, here are my two new joints off of my mixtape, Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover which drops Wednesday, November 18th. The first leak is a song from the B Side: The Hangover called The Rain. The Rain is a joint I wrote and recorded back in early 2008 but has never seen the light of day. This is one of my favorite 9th Wonder beats that I have ever heard. It is just one of those tracks that really hits the heart(for me at least). My second leak is a track from the original Love Potion called Hatin’ Again featuring Adullessence and Stik Figa. This was maybe my favorite joint on the original Love Potion as well. Another one of my favorite 9th Wonder/Little Brother joints. I also wanted to show people the artwork and the track listing today so they could get a taste of what I am offering on this tape. The cover will look familiar with an added touch by Heath O’Campo. The cover was done by David Hildreth who absolutely KILLED it. You can check him out at www.davidhildreth.net. Heath O’Campo also did the track list and matched the cover perfectly. Check Heath out at www.heathocampo.com.
