Kardinal Offishall “The Invention of Truth” Movie
Kardinal and Nottz are getting ready to drop a project called, Let Me Re Introduce Myself and a few weeks back they dropped the record, The Invention of Truth. Looks like Kardi just released The Invention of Truth movie. I’m getting pretty excited about this project. Shout out to Nottz!
Just in case you didn’t hear the record.
Kardinal Offishall “The Invention of Truth”
Oh really? Kardinal and Nottz are dropping an album? Damn, 2012 might be the SHIT. Check out their first leak, The Invention of Truth and stay tuned for the album, A.M.T.R.I.M.

Kardinal Offishall “Anywhere(Ol Time Killin’ Part 2)” Music Video
Damn! This is what I been hoping Mr. International would sound like! Shout out to Kardinal! Happy MFin’ Friday!
Quest For Fire
I posted Karindal’s new video last week and figured this Friday, I would go back an listen to his album, Quest For Fire: Firestarter Volume 1. I remember first seeing Kardinal back when the Bakardi Slang video dropped and thinking “this dude is sick.” Naturally my affinity for reggae and dancehall made Kardi even more appealing but after hearing Ol’ Time Killin’ and Maxine, I was sold. Kardinal to this day is one of my favorite artists. He sounds good pretty much doing any type of track, although I prefer the reggae/dancehall influence. So for the last Friday in January, on this chilly, Chicago winter day, enjoy some Fire from Toronto’s own, Kardinal Offishall.
Kardinal Offishall “The Anthem”
Ever since his last album, Not 4 Sale, I’ve been craving some new Kardinal. He has been one of my favorite emcees for a while now, probably since I first heard Bakardi Slang. After linking with Akon and Konvict, his name seemed to get a little bigger among the mainstream but he is still one of the most slept-on cats out. He puts out dope albums and mixtapes every time around and with his new album, Mr. International on the way, he is sure to gain some more respect. His new video, The Anthem pays tribute to his home, Toronto with a lot of celebrity guest appearances. BIG shout out to Kardinal and all of the dope cats north of the border. Canada has heat, Saukrates, Choclair, Brass Munk, Marco Polo, Da Grassroots and of course my dudes Tona and Lyve. Check out the official video for The Anthem below. T Dot
And for a bonus, two of my favorite Kardi videos, Ol Time Killin and Nina.
You Need This Music
I was reading a little article with Nottz on HipHopDx this morning and it got me pretty excited for his album, You Need This Music, which is supposed to drop sometime this year. Nottz is one of my favorite producers out. He is one of the only cats who seems to have the ability to work with cats like Kanye, R. Kelly, Snoop, Rah Digga and Little Brother. His beats are always fresh and different. I wasn’t aware that he was a rapper and was putting out an album until I saw his video for Shine So Brite. The joint is really dope. He followed it up with a video and a song called Cars which is equally as fresh. I’m exactly sure when they album is going to drop but I WILL be bumping it for sure. Another exciting and interesting piece of information is that Nottz was supposed to do an album with the late, great J Dilla. He produced a track called Diamonds for Dilla from his album, Pay Jay, which never dropped but hit the net last year. Diamonds is one of my favorite Dilla joints ever and to hear Nottz did the track was really cool. For everyone NOT familiar with Nottz, check his credentials. Dude is amazing. Here are the videos for Shine So Brite and Cars, as well as a few other Nottz produced joints that I love. Happy Monday
Barrington Levy featuring Kardinal Offishall No War
I’m gonna start slapping people over the head with new shit constantly. Time to get my blog game up. Wait, nevermind, “we off that.” I did just stumble across a really dope record/video from Barrington Levy featuring Kardinall Offishall called No War. I’m pretty sure that I have heard this song before but I can’t remember where. Anyway, they just dropped a new video and its pretty dope. Kardinal always does his thing. I’m not sure why a legend like Barrington Levy needs to use autotune but whatever I guess. Check out the video belooooooooooooooooooooow.
Speaking of “legends” using autotune, has anyone else seen/heard Flavor Flav’s video I’ll Never Let You Go????? Well if now, here it is!!!!!!!! Classic moment in hip hop. What do you think is going through Chuck D’s mind right now??????
The Specials
Happy Monday to all. This weekend was a great weekend in Chicago. I saw Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre on Saturday evening with my mom. We had to wear ponchos so we didn’t get regurgitated twinkie all over us. It was a great show, very entertaining. Last week was busy with leaks from the Flawless Hustle mixtape, Money Isn’t Real. If you haven’t already downloaded it, make sure you get it. Tomorrow, I will begin promoting m 9th Wonder produced mixtape, Love Potion Number 9th: The Hangover. I will be dropping my first two singles, Blow It Out and Let It Got featuring Adullessence, Large Marge and Stik Figa. Love Potion: The Hangover is sponsored by FlawlessHustle.com, AKIN and RedefinedHype.com. I look forward to hearing what everyone thinks. Last night, I decided to start the week in a different direction with my musical selection. Today’s album is from the ska band, The Specials. My brother has been listening to them for a long time and recommened recently that I check out their Singles Collection. I put it in this morning and it immediately started bringing back memories from my 1st childhood. I remember my brother listening to most of these songs. The Singles Collection is definitely a great way to start the week, especially on a gloomy Monday morning. Here are a few songs from The Specials including Gunz of Navarone which Karindal Offishall sampled for his joint, See The Fire from Kill Bloodclot Bill. Enjoy.
