Pusha T “Blow” Music Video

More video love from Pusha T from his mixtape, Fear of God.  This time he drops a video for Blow.  If you recall seeing Pusha and Kanye on Funk Flex rapping, these bars should sound familiar.  I actually like hearing them acapella a little better but heat none the less.  Fear of God is out now so go get it.  Check out Blow below as well as Pusha and Kanye on Funk Flex.

Weekly Sales 12/8/2010

I’m going to start today’s post like this.  Although I can appreciate certain types of music for what it is and take it for what it’s worth, I can only take so much of it being force fed over the radio, internet and television.  Music goes in trends just like everything else and some trends last for weeks, months, years, etc.  Hip hop, despite being one of the most universal languages, seems to be hit very hard by trends and gimmicks.  No shots fired at Soulja Boy but it looks like his days are numbered as far as record sales.  I am sure he still has an audience of teenie boppers who come to his concerts and buy his Yummy’s but I believe his days as a record selling artists are about over.  He has a pretty big song on the radio with Pretty Boy Swag, which is rather absurd and sounds like a five year old wrote the lyrics but it is a fun, catchy, goofy song.  Even with the success of Pretty Boy Swag, Soulja Boy only managed to sell 13,000 copies of his new album in its first week.  Slim Thug outsold Soulja Boy and I haven’t heard a Slim Thug song in a couple years.  How did a MAJOR selling artists like Soulja Boy only sell 13,000 copies?? I have my guesses but I want to hear what you think.  Anyway, enough with the rant about Soulja Boy Tell Em.  I truly believe that there is a place for all types of music but I wish that a mainstream audience would get to hear more than Pretty Boy Swag and O Let Do It.  Check the numbers below.

Kanye and Nicki Minaj are still doing well.  Jasmine Sullivan appears to be past the 3 MILLION mark.  I wonder if that number is correct.  CRAZY.  Black Eyed Peas don’t seem to have quite the selling power with their new album but as soon as more singles drop, I’m sure they will keep selling.  Until next week…….

Shout out to Currensy for dropping two albums in a few months.  Even though I’m not a fan, I can respect his independent hustle.  He is holding his own.  I guess I should probably give Nicki Minaj’s album a quick listen.  What do you think?  Until next time………

Kanye West “College Dropout Days”

Classic shit Friday is back, sorta.  Although I am listening to Kanye’s new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I figured it was appropriate to show a couple classic Kanye Videos from his debut album, College Dropout.  One of my favorite joints, Spaceship, didn’t have a video released until fairly recently but it definitely needed a video.  Also the first video he dropped, paid for with his own bread, Through The Wire, which is another classic Kanye joint.  He also dropped videos for Jesus Walks, which had like 12 versions, all sick, and a video for The New Workout Plan.  Shout outs to Kanye for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.  Definitely a dope album and as always.  Go buy it when it drops on the 22nd of this month.  Happy Friday.

Pusha T and Kanye West on Funkmaster Flex

This morning on my morning drive, I was bumping this Pusha T mixtape that was compiled by Tapemasters Inc.  I know Pusha has been dropping verses and features recently gearing up to release his mixtape, Fear of God so, I was pretty excited to at least get an unofficial mixtape.  I knew Pusha and Kanye were recently on the Funkmaster Flex Show and each dropped a verse but I didn’t listen until now and um, Pusha KILLS it.  Some critics of Pusha might say all he raps about is coke, drugs, money, etc but trust me, dude is one of the illest.  Watch him spaz on this acapella.  Kanye does his thing too even though he looks super nervous.  I want to tell Kanye, relax bro, your nice, just rap.  By the way, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy or whatever it is called leaked but so far it’s only the clean version.
