Things are looking about the same as last week.  Eminem is is pushing 2.5 million.  Ursher has two albums on the charts.  I’m not sure what’s the different though.  Check the top

It’s Wednesday again, wishing it was Friday but you know what that means.  HipHopDx provided the weekly sales once again.  The biggest story this week is not Eminem selling another 98,000 copies but Drake breaking the Platinum mark.  Congrats to Drake for reaching Platinum with his debut album.  Check the top.

It seems like I have been a day late and a dollar short in the last several weeks but I’m trying to keep up.  Nothing crazy happened in the last week with sales. Eminem is stuck on top.  Drake is one week from going platinum.  Ricky Ross is well over 300K.  Same ish, different week on the charts.  Check the top.

The best album of 2010, Big Boi, is approaching 150K.  I wonder what those numbers would be like if it was an Outkast album.  Regardless, Big Boi is hitting the road for the Sir Lucious Left Foot tour this fall.  Make sure you see him live.  Bun B moved another 11,000 copies of his “5 Mic Classic”, Trill OG.  And the KC native, Tech N9ne sold 2,400 copies this past week of his collab project.  Stay tuned for more updates….

This week spelled double platinum for Eminem, who is back at number one moving, 133K this week.  Ricky Rozay moved another 30K sitting at number 7.  Mike Posner dropped his debut album and is sitting right below Rosssssss at number 8 moving 29K.  And the Trill OG, Bun B moved another 17K in his second week.  Check the top

Big Boi moved another 8K, despite having the best album of 2009, he can’t quite manage to do legendary numbers.  Damn shame.  The Roots and Damian Marley are still moving a few units as well.  So far the best albums of the year go, 1. Big Boi, 2. The Roots, 3. Damian Marley and Nas.  The Roots and Damian Marley and Nas are pretty much tied for 2nd in my opinion.  Until next week…..

Eminem is still proving why is the man since the release of his album, Relapse.  He moved another 187,000 this week and is sitting strong at number one.  The bawssssssssssse, Ricky Ross came in at number two moving 177K with his new album, Teflon Don.  Drizzy Drake is moving closer to a millie sitting at number four moving another 47,000 this week.  Check the top

Big Boi surpassed the 100K mark.  Nas and Damian Marley moved another 5,800 and The Roots broke 100K as well.  The new Rocafella’s first, Currensy moved 5,100 in his second week, sitting at 16,000.  Stay tuned for more updates and as always, shout out to HipHopDx for the weekly numbers.

All three new albums that I listened too last week hit the charts moving numbers like newcomers.  It’s so weird to see people who have been in the game for a while not even sell 10,000 copies.  However, I guess if your anyone but Eminem, Jay-Z or Drake you are feeling the pressure.  Until next week…..

This has been a pretty exciting week for me especially because I have purchased three albums in the last week, probably the most music I have bought since like 2001.  Three incredible albums that needed to be supported though.  I was anxious to see how many units Big Boi could move especially after dropping such a SICK album.  My predictions were pretty solid but they are a little  disappointing.  Big Boi debuted at number three behind Eminem and Drake, moving 63K.  One of those being mine of course.  Eminem moved another 229 THOUSAND this week and Drake did another 74 K.  Check the top.

The Roots sold 14K this week, Kelis appears to be needing that child support money more than ever and the Hot Boy, Juvenile has seen better days moving 6,600.  It’s amazing to see all these rappers that once went platinum to selling next to nothing.  But you know what they say.  Until next week………..BUY BIG BOI’S ALBUM NOW!!!!!!!!

Eminem is still sitting on top of the charts this week and reached platinum in just two weeks of sales.  Congrats to Em, that’s pretty incredible considering the state of things.  Drake is sitting at number two and sold another 100K this week.  Love King, The Dream moved 58K in his first week.  That is kind of surprising considering that R&B seems to be the way to sell records nowadays.  Here is the top

It’s kind of amazing that you can be on the charts by only selling 2500 copies in a week.  I feel like I could do that out of my bookbag.  Dwele sold 14K in his first week.  The Roots moved 21,000 in their second week.  One of those copies will be mine next week.  Whoever Blaze Ya Dead Homie is moved a few more units this week.  Big Boi is on the chopping block next week.  Hopefully he can do at least 100K but I’m predicting 60-75K.  Regardless, go buy his album.

Weekly Sales 6/30/10

This week has been perhaps the biggest week in sales for quite some time.  As you all might know, Eminem dropped his album, Recovery last week and managed to move almost 750K in its first week.  It is the highest first week sales in nearly two years.  I honestly am pretty shocked by these numbers, i figured Drake would do more than Eminem but MAN, props to Em.  Drake is now at number 2 on the charts and broke the gold mark in just two weeks.  The Roots also hit the charts at number 6, moving 51k.  Here is the top.

B.o.B. is still doing well.  His feature on Big Boi’s new LP is pretty dope.  Props to B.o.B.  Hopefully Nas and Damian Marley can keep crawling towards gold.  It’s still a little disheartening that The Roots still only moved 50K in their first week especially after touring the world for years and putting out dope album after dope album.  Oh well, until next time, BIG shout out to Eminem.

Weekly Sales 6/23/10

Last Tuesday and today are probably two of the biggest days in recent memory as far as album sales are concerned.  Rap’s most hyped singer, Drake dropped his debut album, Thank Me Later last Tuesday to much excitement.  Regardless of how you feel about Drake, Thank Me Later is the biggest release this year to date and might take the cake for the entire year if Kanye’s Good Ass Job or Detox don’t see the light of day.  Some people were prediction A Millie in the first week like his bosses album, Tha Carter III.  It is official though, Drake is right under the gold mark in first week sales.  Maybe not as high as some people predicted but still an incredible showing if you ask me.  Check the numbers below.

Drake has two projects on the chart now and is still moving some units with the So Far Gone LP.  Nas and Damian Marley are still moving a few units with possibly the best album of the year.  Lil Jon has seem to fall into the “who the fuck cares” category with his new album, Crunk Rock.  Stay tuned until next week for Eminem’s numbers for his album, Recovery.
