BET Cyphers 2011

Man, glad lyrics are being brought to the mainstream.  Shout out to the whole Shady family and of course, Big KRIT and Kendrick.  Glad to see Tech N9ne getting shine too! Everyone kinda killed their verses.  Now if BET and MTV would put some music back on TV.

Man Em is out of control! I wanna hear that new album with Dre.

Eminem featuring Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf “2.0 Boys”

Bars!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This joint just hit the net and is guaranteed to get people talking.  Shady brings his newest signees on board for their first joint all together called “2.0 Boys.”  Royce, Em, Joell, Budden, Crooked and Yelawolf all drop crazy verses on this shit.   If these cats are going in like this, I can’t wait to hear what all the music is gonna sound like.  Check it out below.  I promise you will have to rewind SEVERAL times.

Yelawolf featuring Bun B “Good To Go” Music Video

2011 is starting off well for Yelawolf, who is the latest addition to Eminem’s Shady Records along with Slaughterhouse.  Yelawolf drops his new video for Good To Go featuring Bun B.  The video is pretty sick.  Definitely a great way to kick off his new Shady deal.  I can’t wait to hear what Yelawolf will drop now.  He is definitely one of my favorite cats to come out in the last few years.  If you don’t already have Trunk Muzik, you need to get that now.

Shady Records

In case you haven’t heard, Eminem and Shady Records announced two big acquisitions to their label and announced the signings this week. Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf will now be joining Eminem’s roster. CRAZY. There were a bunch of rumors about Slaughterhouse signing last year but Yelawolf came as a pleasant surprise. I’m real excited to see what Yelawolf will do now with Shady and Interscope behind him. Sounds like things will get a little crazy. In light of this signing, I wanted to share a couple of videos from Shady Records signees, Cashis and Obie Trice. Cashis has a joint called Lac Motion several years back that was SICK. Of course, everyone knows Obie Trice, dude is sick too. Also, here are a couple Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse videos to get wet your whistle. Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!

The Eminem Show

After a little hip hop discussion with my guy, Pete Sayke on Monday, I decided to listen to The Eminem Show and D-12′s Devil’s Night to jog my memory about how ill Eminem really is. It’s not like I need much of a reminder simply listening to his verse from American Psycho on D-12′s album but music always hits people differently at different time periods. The discussion came up about favorite albums, emcees, groups, etc of all time and of course Eminem’s name always comes up. Although, I am personally not a fan of Recovery, I respect the change and the message but I wanted to hear some old Em. Needless to say, I got what I needed. I wanted to see all the videos he released for this album too so, here they are.

And for a bonus, a little D-12.  RIP Proof

I guess Black Milk’s Album of the Year fell out of the top 200 after just a week.  Damn shame seeing as how he has one of the best albums of the year.  Eminem looks like he will definitely hit triple platinum this year.  I wonder what Lil Weezy’s new(WACK) album, I Am Not A Human Being will sell.  I’m sure he will sell over 100k maybe 200.

Weekly Sales

Several new releases hit the charts last week but only one managed to make a big splash.  Trey Songz new album, Passion Pain and Pleasure sold 240K in its first week and is sitting at number 2 on the charts.  Eminem is right behind him with 89K sold this week.  The other usual suspects are still sitting in the 15-30 range.  Check it out

A few new releases this week hit the charts.  Atmosphere does 9,400, Young Buck does 6,400 and the “Ice Cream Paint Job” man, Durrough does 5,500.  Oh yea and both of Eminem’s are still on the charts.  CRAZY.  Hopefully Black Milk can move at least 5,000.  I tried to find it at Best Buy and Target but it was no where to be found.  Shame.
