I figured since I’ve made it through 24 Gorilla Zoe mixtapes and finally caught up, I would take this Friday back to the classics. Yesterday I listened to both discs of Biggie’s Life After Death. As if I need to say anything about Biggie, he is STILL the man. Joints like Somebody’s Gotta Die, Kick In The Door, You’re Nobody, Ten Crack Commandments and many others have withstood over a decade of time and would still be classics if they dropped today. I’m not a big fan of Puff’s adlibs and some of his touches on the album but Biggie keeps it fresh regardless of what song he is on. It’s always refreshing for me to go back and listen to albums like this at different times periods in my life because I pick up new stuff every time and find myself enjoying it so much more than I remembered. It’s still a shame that Biggie and Pac didn’t get to have a full run with their careers but maybe their music and their lives wouldn’t have held as much weight. So, Happy Friday to everyone. Enjoy some classic shit from one of hip hop’s icons. RIP Biggie.

Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Thirteen
To my own suprise, I have FINALLY caught up with Gorilla Zoe and have listened to ALL 24 days of mixtapes. Yesterday and today, I made it through 22, 23 and 24. Now, I’m just waiting on Zoe to drop the 25th today. 22 was called Space Chips, 23 was My Block and 24 was Book of Zoe. Space Chimps is an absolutely ABSURD cover. I fucks with Zoe(well his art guy) for that one. Book of Zoe features some weird rock sample shit. My Block has a joint with some singer and T.I. I was surprised to hear that shit. Shout out to T.I. for being out. We are all looking forward to new music. Anyway, here are the 3 latest mixtapes from Zoe.
If you can only get to one of these mixtapes, please listen to the intro on My Block from Big Block. His rant is hilarious. Apparently, Diddy called him the Diddy of the show. I’m not sure if that’s a compliment especially after hearing 24 of these mixtapes.

Freeway and Jake One dropped their album, The Stimulus Package under the Rhymesayers imprint and failed to bring hope back to hip hop fans. Mathematics, who is a Wu-Tang affiliate also dropped an album, Return of the Wu & Friends and moved 3,4oo. I have higher hopes for the Raekwon, Method Man and Ghostface album, Wu-Masscre as well as Little Brother’s final album, Leftback. I guess I’ll wait until they drop. Shout out to Sade for coming back very strong. Until next week…..
Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Twelve
Typically, I would try not to overshadow a new release from myself with music that I am listening to but in the spirit of the GZC and to show the level of commitment I have for the cause, today I am through two more mixtapes, number 18, The Beast Within and number 21, Futuristic Zoo. I’ll give these two tapes the Forest Gump Treament, “and that’s all I have to say about that.”
Sweet cover for Futuristic Zoo huh?????????
FlawlessHustle.com and Mike Schpitz present See Me produced by Parker
Shout out to Dakota Blue Harper for the flick.
This is kind of an under the radar release for me but I wanted to share this song separately. I was recently featured twice on FlawlessHustle.com’s mixtape Stay Flawless. My joint, See Me produced by Parker was a track that actually came together because of the first FlawlessHustle.com mixtape Money Isn’t Real. I linked with Parker after I recorded Stop Me Then. He heard the track, liked it and the rest is history. See Me is the first track me and Parker made after that tape. We got another one on the way called Break of Dawn that should surface sometime this year. In the meantime, listen, download and share See Me as well as the whole mixtape, Stay Flawless.
Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Eleven
I have to apologize for the super late post of the day. It’s been a hectic day but just to reassure everyone, I am STILL on the GZC. Today, I went back and caught mixtape number 17, Gorilla Woods Part 2 and jumped forward to mixtape 20, Cartunez. For whatever reason, number 18 is nowhere to be found. I guess that means it was too bad to continue to promote it. Anyway, the end is approaching ever so rapidly. I have to comment on a trend I have been noticing in rap lately and in particular Gorilla Zoe does it A LOT throughout these tapes. Rappers have been comparing themselves to shit lately. Kanye has said things like “How it feels to wake up to be the shit and the urine.” Lil Wayne frequently uses inappropriate bathroom chat as well. However, Gorilla Zoe has taken it to a new level by saying things like “I doo doo and boo boo and poo poo.” I’m not sure why this trend continues but I must urge rappers to find more clever ways of saying they are the shit rather than comparing themselves to ACTUALL shit. Well, enjoy both tapes and trust there will be some classic material coming very soon. Stay tuned.
The cover work is still kind of hilarious though.
Neak “Make It” Video
My guy Neak, who I recently performed with a few times, just released a video for his joint Make It from his new project, 84′ Volume 2 (The Silent Fiasco) sponsored by DJBooth.net and KevinNottingham. I have had the opportunity to perform with Neak several times and chop it up with him. He has been working hard for a while and his new project is testament to that. I don’t usually post stuff but I want everyone to check out the video and definitely download his tape when it drops on March 2nd. Neak is one of Chicago’s most talented emcees and a real cool cat. I’ll make sure I post his tape when it drops too. In the meantime, check out Make It.
Wu-Massacre Cover Art and Track List
So if you have kept up with The Wu since Raekwon dropped his classic, OBFCL2, then you know about the rumored album with Meth, Ghost and Rae. Well, the cover and track list leaked on the net a week or so ago and if the artwork is telling if the project, it will be incredible. The comic book cover is perfect. The track list is short and sweet. I have no expectations for this album, especially after Ghostface’s last album but I hope this follows the footsteps of OBFCL2. It is scheduled to drop March 30th so stay tuned. Peep the track list below.
1. Criminology 2.5
2. Meth vs. Chef
3. Ya Moms Skit
4. Smooth Sailing (Remix) feat. Solomon Childs
5. Our Dreams
6. Gunshowers feat. Inspectah Deck & Cappadonna
7. Dangerous

13. Made Men (Bonus)
Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Ten
I got to be honest with everyone, this morning I ALMOST gave up this GZC because I am noticing that it is taking a toll on me. I am very uninspired to write my own music and I find my morning drives just SUCKING balls. However, I pushed on and I think I am recharged. The end is in sight. Today, I have officially made it through mixtapes 16 and 19. I made a mistake and put 19 in this morning instead of 17 but 17 is in the tapedeck as we speak. The mixtape titles are Walking Money Machine and I Am Zoe Good. These aren’t quite as entertaining as some of the previous ones so there are really no highlights from either, just more of the same. If you are STILL sleeping on the 28(29) in 28 days, time to catch up. Happy Monday to all and hopefully I will be through this challenge by next week.
I wonder if Gorilla Zoe really is a Walking Money Machine. Something tells me he is exaggerating a little bit.
Gorilla Zoe Challenge: Day Nine
It’s Day Nine of the Gorilla Zoe Challenge and I am on mixtapes 14 and 15, Stupid Cupid Shawty and Engraved In Stone. More hilarity from the cover art especially Stupid Cupid Shawty. As for musical content and quality, it all sounds the same now so providing any real feedback is impossible. I did hear Zoe jack some Biggie, rap over Katie Perry’s Kiss A Girl and redo “What Is Love?” I have heard Zoe say on a few different occassions that people thought this 28 mixtape in 28 day thing wouldnt be quality music. All I could do is shake my head. I wonder if he is even listening to any of this music??????? Oh well. Happy Friday to all, TGIF and here are the next two mixtapes, Stupid Cupid Shawty and Engraved In Stone
