The first mixtape from YNotMyDream just dropped yesterday and has been receiving lots of downloads of positive feedback. Today, I am releasing my joint from that mixtape, Same Song produced by Lord Quest from Canada.  Please listen, download and share.  Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone and enjoy some good music for the break.

Downtime

I had the pleasure recently for my song Downtime with Phys Edison to be featured in a short film directed by Gareth Dowdell.  He submitted his short film to the Red Bull film contest Reel Life out in Auckland, New Zealand.  I watched the film last evening and it was really cool to see.  The short films will be judged and a winner will be chosen and awarded $10,000 dollars towards their film career.  Please everyone take some time to watch Downtime.  Share your feedback, thoughts and comments here or on facebook, myspace or twitter.  Here is the link to Downtime.

YNotMyDream presents Beneath The Surface

This was supposed to be my featured project for the day but now it is my featured project for the night and all day tomorrow.  My man, my mellow, Anthony who runs YNotMyDream.blogspot, has been working very hard for the last few months putting together a mixtape of some of his favorite artists.  Aptly, titled(I like that word aptly) Beneath The Surface(see Gza’s album), the mixtape features a lot of cats you may see around the net on various blogs and sites but who aren’t quite household names.  Everyone on the trap submitted exclusive tracks including myself to show their love and support to Anthony for all his hard work in supporting our journeys into this wonderful world of rap madness.  Sorry that was lame.  I want everyone to download Beneath The Surface and check out YNotMyDream.blogspot.com daily for all the latest.  He is one of the cats who genuinely supports and respects the artists he posts.  It’s not based soley on hits and page visits.  Enjoy Beneath The Surface.  Congrats to Anthony for the first of MANY dope tapes.  Artwork is ill too.

Add-2 “Cassette Tapes”

I fell a little late on this but Add-2 dropped a new joint last week titled Cassette Tapes produced by Mydus.  I don’t think I need to say anything but this is definitely a real cool joint.  I can’t say enough about how nice Add is.  Every joint he just progressing and raising the bar.  Check out Cassette Tapes.  There are too many quotables in this shit.  Real smooth beat too.  Shout out to Mydus

Strong Enough

Maybe I’m just feeling generous this year but I have stepped out and purchased 2 albums in 2009.  First was Raekwon and the most recent is 50 Cent’s new album, Before I Self Destruct.  Now I purchased them both for different reasons but none the less, I have the physical copies and pictures to prove it.  50′s album dropped Tuesday in stores and yesterday I purchased the triple deluxe version of the album, that includes a sample of 50′s new cologne and 2 movies.  50′s directorial debut, BISD the movie is one of the movies included and the other is a Jam Master Jay documentary.  Needless to say, I’m going to put on 50′s cologne and watch both movies back to back.  The real reason I purchased BISD is because two of my guys, Nascent and QB Da Problem produced track nine, Strong Enough.  The song is one of the “strongest” on the album and is Sha Money XL’s favorite joint.  So today is dedicated to Nascent and QB.  Check out Strong Enough as well as the other track they did for 50 called RedRum(187) from his mixtape War Angel.

Goodie Mob Live

I have been trying to figure out how to post the video on here since I saw Goodie Mob live on Jimmy Kimmel perform their classic cut, Soul Food with The Roots.  FINALLY, I got it to work.  For those of you who missed this performance, it was really dope.  Goodie Mob STILL sounds incredible and of course The Roots absolutely kills this song.  Goodie Mob also performed Cell Therapy at the BET Hip Hop Awards a month or two ago and did a great job as well.  Check out both performances.  These are both must have in your lives.

Yes yess yall.  Sorry for the day delay updating everyone with the weekly numbers, as if you couldn’t just go to HipHopDx anyway.  I gotta figure out a new source for the numbers but for the time being this is what I got.  Michael Jackson’s soundtrack, This Is It is still selling more units per week then most people will dream of, Jay-Z and the Black Eye Peas are holding it down and Wale’s debut Attention Deficit didn’t quite move 30K.  Check out the top.
