Boy Meets World

Fash_bmw_front_hi_res

Since I have been releasing several joints this week along with the Flawless Hustle, Money Isn’t Real mixtape, I have been able to sit and marinate on a couple albums for a few days.  Royce’s Street Hop, Camp Lo’s Another Heist and Fashawn’s Boy Meets World.  I got Fashawn in the deck right now and am on my second listen all the way through.  My guy, Heath gave me a copy last week and had good things to say about Boy Meets World.  Exile produced most/all of it I believe so I knew the beats would be nice but I haven’t really heard anything from Fashawn.  After my first listen, I was definitely pleased with what I hear.  The beats are dope of course and Fashawn is a very capable emcee who puts his whole life into this record.  It is a nice project for Exile to follow up Below The Heavens with as well.  The features on the album make sense too.  Without giving away too many details, Boy Meets World is a very relatable record for anyone from anywhere.  I would definitely recommend checking it out and showing some love to Fashawn in the form of RIAA scans.  This album has me pretty stoked for another Blu and Exile record.  Check out Fashawn’s video for Day in Sunny CA.

How come every video of Cali makes it look AMAZING?

Money Isn’t Real

As promised, FlawlessHustle.com just dropped their first mixtape, Money Isn’t Real.  Here is the press release directed from Flawless Hustle.

After a summer of hard work, the payoff is here: Flawless Hustle proudly presents Money Isn’t Real, our first compilation. If there’s one topic that’s a constant in Hip-Hop is money. Whether heads are making it, spending it or stealing it, the scene (and our world) is obsessed with money. Hell, one of the reasons people hustle is to get loot, so we ourselves know the power of a dollar, which got us thinking: what the fuck is money, really? It’s an interesting concept, and was a great jumping off point for this debut project, so we asked a host of esteemed MCs and producers to give us their take(s) on the idea of money and it not being real. The end result is Money Isn’t Real, which contains stories about getting paid, jacking loot, spending cheese or just plotting on attaining funds. We even have tracks that show the underside, the results of where our money-driven culture could lead us going into the future.

The possibilities are endless, and with a good drink (or a nicely-rolled L), you and your goons/business partners/stockholders should have a deep conversation about many of the themes within this project. Or you can just download it and have a compilation that satisfies from front to back. The choice is yours.

To help celebrate the release of this project we’re giving away 10 limited edition Flawless Hustle x Da Bottom Clothing Tee’s.

The Clipse Complex Cover/Tracklist

Clipse Complex

The anticipation for The Clipse new album, Til The Casket Drops has been building ever since their previous classic, Hell Hath No Fury.  Their first single, Kinda Like A Big Deal was a certified banger(minus Kanye’s lame verse).  The second single, I’m Good seemed to be well received although I’m not a huge fan(mainly because of The Neptunes).  Their Complex Magazine cover as well as the track list to Til The Casket Drop seems to build up the hype even more.  The album is short, sweet and the production looks really dope.  For all those thinking that The Neptunes weren’t doing much, they are on their quite a bit.  So is DJ Khalil, who in my opinion, is one of the best producers out.  Check out the track list and share your thoughts.  Money Isn’t Real is still coming soon.  Stay tuned.

1. Speak of Freedom (Produced By Sean C & LV)
2. Popular Demand (Popeyes) feat. Cam’ron (Produced By The Neptunes)

8. Never Will It Stop feat. Ab-Liva (Produced By Sean C & LV)
9. Eyes On Me feat. Keri Hilson (Produced By The Neptunes)

I’m not sure how or why Yo Gotti made the album but whatever.  Check out their two videos for Kinda Like A Big Deal and I’m Good.

Doesn’t Mean Anything

alicia-keys

“Can I speak to Michael????”

Those are the infamous words that made me realize Alicia Keys felt the same way about me that I felt about her.  Since then, she has written and sang countless songs about how good my love is and how it all means nothing “if she doesn’t have me.”  Let me tell you, it’s an incredible feeling to find true love.  I encourage you all to try it sometime.  Mrs. Jones, I mean Keys just released the video for her single, Doesn’t Mean Anything and of course it is beautiful and perfect.  Thank you baby.  I can’t wait until she hears my joint, Shake Em Off that I wrote for her.  I invite everyone to enjoy Miss Keys new video, Doesn’t Mean Anything.  She looks absolutely beautiful.  Stay tuned and glued to MikeSchpitz.com for FlawlessHustle.com’s mixtape, Money Isn’t Real which drops today.  Yours truly had 3 new, exclusive joints on Money Isn’t Real.  Shout out to Hav and the whole Flawless Hustle family.

The Salvation

skyzoo-the-salvation

Happy Friday to everyone.  Last night I got to see Skyzoo rock live for the first time.  He performed at The Darkroom in Chicago for Ruby Hornet’s event Return of the Real.  Skyzoo took the stage for about 45 minutes or so and killed it.  He came out to Return of the Real produced by Just Blaze and that set the tone for the whole show.  He had everyone in the crowd rocking with him the whole set.  He was up there by himself rapping every last word of the verses, hooks and bridges.  It was a really good show and I encourage any and everyone to check him live.  This morning it was only right that I put back in The Salvation and gave it another listen.  I definitely like it even more after seeing him rock live.  Make sure you go out and purchase your copy of The Salvation ASAP.  Shout out to Skyzoo and Ruby Hornet for throwing a dope show.  My favorite joint today is Under Pressure.  The beat is incredible and it’s one of those songs a lot of people can relate too.

MIDWESTGANGSTABOXFRAMECADILLACMUZIK

Freddie Gibbs

Shout out to Vanysh for the heads up on this mixtape.  I have been hearing about Freddie Gibbs for a little while now and after talking with my buddy Vansyh, he convinced me to check out Freddie’s mixtape MIDWESTGANGSTABOXFRAMECADILLACMUZIK.  It’s nice to see Gibbs paying tribute to Outkast.  Last night I watched a live music video of Gibbs performing Murda on my Mind, so I figured today was the perfect day to listen to the whole mixtape.  I’m sure Freddie probably gets the same type of “looks” when people realize he is from Indiana as I get about Kansas but this mixtape doesn’t sound like some local, low budget ass music.  Freddie is a polished emcee with dope beats and dope hooks.  I know his music isn’t for everyone especially for those who don’t enjoy listening to “gangster” music or like hearing about drugs, guns, weed and hoes but Freddie’s got heat.  I will definitely be checking for any new music he drops.  In related news, Freddie Gibbs has a joint on Maja 7th’s highly anticipated album/mixtape called The Breakout which is sponsored by FakeShoreDrive.  Another person featured on that album is ME.  Maja 7th and I cooked up a track called Going For Broke which will be featured on The Breakout.  I will definitely keep everyone updated about that project as well.  Maybe there will be a Freddie Gibbs/Maja 7th/Mike Schpitz record in the future.  Anything can happen.  So, with that said, I encourage everyone to “smoke and ride” and listen to some Freddie Gibbs.  It’s beautiful to see the Midwest making good shit.
