“yea that’s tenn points right there, that’s tenn points”
Last night before I went bed, I was browsing my 640(external hard drive that is) looking for an album that I haven’t listened to in a while. I thought about bumping some more Kardinal but I figured I would switch it up from Friday. I came across one of my favorite(where is he now) guys from the Dungeon Family, Cool Breeze’s East Points Greatest Hit. I think it has actually been several years since I have listened to Cool Cutter. I can’t lie, I was kind of excited to wake up this morning to hear Watch for the Hook and Cre-A-Tine. “I got people who….” However, my favorite joint on EPGH is Butta. I remember riding around in my 88, egg shell white Corrolla bumping Butta. I think Cool Breeze never really got a lot of respect as an MC but I think dude was really dope. He kind of paved the way for cats like Young Jeezy to come out of Atlanta. Butta has a similiar feel to Outkast joints like Funky Ride and SpottieOttieDopaliscious. One of those real laid back, smooth joints. It kind of feels like you are rolling around at about 2am just zoned out. It is always refreshing for me to revisit some of my favorite artists and favorite albums from high school and hear that they still give me the same feeling that they used too. That’s called good music. Check out Cool Breeze Butta and I suggest you all should go back and listen to East Point’s Greatest Hit. There are some really dope songs on there. I wonder what Cool Breeze is doing now. I hit him up on myspace a couple times but he never hit me back. I’m gonna still work on getting him on my album though.
