We Want Our Publishing Rights!!!!!!!!! BBWB’s!!!!!

For any of you who know me, Bo or my brother DJ Tanner, you will know how the whole COMBO’s game orginated.  For those of you who are UNFAMILIAR, either ask Clinton Sparks or peep game.  Back in 2002 while on a family trip in Ireland, my brother combined 2 words into one(ask and I’ll tell you), creating the phenonenom that is making its way into maintstream media.  From Wendy’s commercials to movies and now to songs and music videos, word combinations(or combos to us professionals), are popping up every where and NO ONE is giving credit where credit is due.  The most recent and atrocious use of combo’s is from a song about white chicks with big bootys, otherwise knowns as Whootys.  The artist EDUBB’s new song Whooty has become an internet sensation in just a matter of days.  I heard the song a while back on some bootleg “whooty’s” homemade video of her shaking her ass.  All I’m saying is this shit has gotten ridiculous.  I almost blew up Wendy’s headquarters when I heard them combine Solid and Liquid into Soquid and Frosty and Spoon into Fpoon.  Good thing double stacks are only a dollar or else there would have been a tragedy at Wendy’s advertising offices.  However, I can no longer keep silent about this issue.  We want our money and we demand that we be consulted before the use of ANY more combo’s in music, commercials or movies.  I’ll be awaiting your calls.  In the meantime, check out EDUBB’s new video Whooty because well, who doesn’t like ass.  Its a shame it takes something like this to get famous and cats like Blu can’t even get a backrub these days.  DAMN!!!!!!!

The Clipse “Kinda Like A Big Deal”

Real Shit Alert!!!!!!!!!!

Clipse Kinda Like A Big Deal

Clipse Kinda Like A Big Deal

From Exclusive Audio Footage to Road Til The Casket Drops, The Clipse have been putting out nothing but the highest qualtity product.  Maybe it’s their previous line of work(only going by what they tell me) or maybe it’s their love and passion for the music but regardless of the reasoning, The Clipse NEVER fail.  Regardless of the current climate of hip hop, they always manage to create fresh sound, continue putting out the highest quality music(minus that horrible REUP Gang album, which I am still convinced is due to a label or some horrible executive) and receive critical acclaim even for their We Got It For Cheap mixtape series.  Their first single off Til The Casket Drops, Kinda Like A Big Deal(which I have been bumpin since it dropped), has been out for a while but its buzz is still picking up steam organically much like every one of their songs and projects.  With a RIDICULOUS track from DJ Khalil and a not-so-bad feature from Kanye West, this is definitely MY anthem for the summer.  Check out this joint, which is the remix featuring Bun B who absolutely slaughters it.  Oh yea, the artwork is done by KAWS.  C’now now, what’s fucking with that?????  Now for one of my boldest predictions of ALL TIME, The Clipse are top 5 greatest groups of all time and Pusha is one of the nicest dudes to ever bless the mic.  I dare someone to challenge that.

Killer Mike featuring Big Boi “My Chrome”

After taking me a good 25 minutes to figure out how to embedd this darn video into the post, I finally figured it out(sigh of relief).  Taken from Onsmash.com, Killer Mike drops a gem featuring one of the illest, most slept-on MCs ever, Big Boi.  I’m one of those fanss who has supported and continues to support anything Outkast and their affiliates drop.  I still got Backbone and Slimm Cutta Calhoun’s album in the CD booklet.  I know Killer Mike isn’t down with Outkast like that any more but it’s still nice to see old stuff leaking.  Check it out.

Guilty Pleasure

As a 25 year old, sometimes I am ashamed of myself for enjoying certain things that I feel should be of no concern to me.  However, I got to admit, my newest guilty pleasure is a website that is filled with NOTHING but celebrity gossip. I know I am SUPER late on the bandbagon but my pal, just put me on to Bossip.com .  Maybe I am just as interested in celebreality as the next person but I just like how hard they go on celebrities.  Needless to say, Bossip.com has made its way into my daily internet routine.  Shame on me.

Mike Schpitz’ Theme Song of the Day

Talib Kweli

Talib Kweli

Every day I wake up at 8am, hit the shower, get dressed, jump in the car and drive in autopilot mode to work(only if my car really had autopilot so I could get an extra 40 minutes of REM).  The only way to break the monotony of the drive is new/old tunes.  Somedays I burn a CD from my computer and others I just flip through my ancient(several years old) CD booklets and pop in a CD from my collection.  In that 40 minute drive, one song in particular fits the mood of the day and becomes my theme song.  All day, I walk around the office, humming, singing or rapping the lyrics(at least the ones i know) much to my coworkers dismay.  So to give you a taste of how my days begins, I will be posting, Mike Schpitz’ Theme Song of the Day(sorry if I slack some days, particularly weekends, hangovers are a bitch) and why it particularly struck a cord with me that day.  Today’s theme song was brought to you by BK MC, Talib Kweli from his second solo album, Quality.  Perhaps his biggest song to date, Get By, came on this morning and as cliche as it is, it fit my mood perfectly.  The whole album is a little slept on,  I think due to Kweli’s attempt to capture a more mainstream audience with the production but most every song is pretty dope.  Check out Talib Kweli’s Get By produced by Kanye West.  There is even a remix with Jay-Z, Mos Def, Kanye West and Busta Rhymes.
